Crisis Communication and Reporting
Taught by our own Port PD Crisis Prevention team Officer Michelle Bregel and Viktoriya Shook, Mental Health with Port PD. September 19th (1-3PM) Register via Eventbrite
This 90-minute course will cover how to effectively communicate with an upset person exhibiting escalated behavior. Participants will learn about types of crises, self-regulation, symptoms of drug/alcohol intoxication, medical conditions that present similarly to intoxication, emergent vs non-emergent reporting to police, how to make a good report, and other relevant topics. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to communicate with people in crisis as well as police reporting procedures and response.
